Check out the time schedule in full as the Lusail International Circuit hosts Round 1 of 2022 Three months on from the 2021 Valencia season finale, we can finally say it is race week once again! The 2022 MotoGP⢠World Championship kicks off this weekend under the lights of Lusail International Circuit and our excitement is palpable. All bets are off come lights out, with the six MotoGP⢠manufacturers showing race-winning potential, while the likes of Marc Marquez Repsol Honda Team, Fabio Quartararo Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGPâ˘, Francesco Bagnaia Ducati Lenovo Team and Joan Mir Team Suzuki Ecstar hoping to get their title bids off to a perfect start. Lest we forget Maverick ViĂąales, the Aprilia rider will be hoping to pick up his first win for the Noale factory at the circuit where he last stood on the top step. All five of those riders will be joined by Brad Binder Red Bull KTM Factory Racing on Thursdayâs Press Conference, which gets underway at 1700 local time GMT +3. The media sitdown will give riders the chance to preview their weekendâs expectations, as well as what targets they have set for themselves this season. Friday then gives us our first track action of the year, with Moto3⢠up at 1150 for 40 minutes of FP1. Moto2⢠are on at 1245 for another 40 minutes of laps before itâs the turn of the premier class at 1340, and that session concludes at 1425. The Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup will also see plenty of track action over the weekend, preceding Moto3⢠at 1105, and on again after MotoGP⢠at 1440. Free Practice 2 begins at 1610 for the lightweight class, 1705 for the intermediate class and 1800 for MotoGPâ˘. The fun continues on Saturday, with ATC qualifying followed by FP3 at 1125, and ending at 1400. After a short break, where weâll see Race 1 in the ATC at 1435, the battle for pole begins. Moto3⢠are up at 1530 for two 15-minute qualifying sessions, before itâs the turn of Moto2⢠at 1625 with two more 15-minute sessions. Once the pole sitters are decided in those classes, MotoGP⢠have 40 minutes of FP4 at 1720 to fine-tune their machines ahead of qualifying at 1800. Once again, riders will compete in two 15-minute sessions to decide who will start from P1 in the first Grand Prix of the year. Then itâs crunch time on Sunday. Race 2 in the ATC kicks the day off at 1150 before Warm Ups begin at 1300 for an hour. Itâs lights out for Moto3⢠at 1500 as the lightweight class compete over 18 laps of Lusail for honours. Race results from the Qatar MotoGP at Lusail, the opening round of the 2022 world Bastianini has charged to a dream debut MotoGP victory after passing surprise long-time leader Pol Espargaro in the closing stages of the 2022 Qatar talented young Italian thus handed the new look Gresini Ducati team, which lost team principal Fausto Gresini a year ago, an emotional first premier-class win since Toni Elias in 2006!The upsets continued with Brad Binder taking advantage of a mistake by Espargaro, struggling for grip by the closing laps, to snatch second for KTM - and almost catch Bastianini!Repsol team-mates Marc Marquez and Pol Espargaro perfectly announced the arrival of the all-new Honda by blasting to the front of the field at the start, with Binder seizing third from front-row qualifier used a braking moment for Marquez to take the lead, while an identical Marquez mistake then allowed Binder into second.
